Keeping Busy This Summer!

As always, I never have troubles keeping myself entertained!  It has been a very busy season so far, filled with many things I love!

February through the end of April, I spent my time preparing for my first solo art show at Laughing Sun Brewing Co., Bismarck's first local brewery.  This show runs May-July.  It went so well, I ended up making some new pieces to replace the sold ones.  What an experience it has been!  I learned a lot on how to prepare for such a show, work very hard, and remain calm while doing so (after only one freak out in February when I didn't have any work done yet!).  I have received a lot of positive feedback on my work!

I also started practicing with a band a few months ago.  After playing music for years, and writing originals for a few, I decided it was time to 'play well with others.'  Now known as "The Prairie Meddlers", we just had our first two gigs this past weekend.  It has been an absolute blast getting out and playing!  The gigs keep rolling in and I look forward to sharing our random choice of music with everyone!

And, of course, I've been doing some sewing as well!  Vending at Urban Harvest, Bismarck's local market, is always a great experience!  It's a wonderful way to get my creations out into the community and be a part of the great things happening in my town.

Anyway, just wanted to give you a quick update and assure you that I am hard at work!  I hope to start blogging a little more regularly, so I will get more in depth with stories, creations, and inspiration!  I hope you are enjoying your summer!
